In a play in series between the top AAA All-Stars in baseball the International league pulled out a 1 run victory to take a 1-0 series lead. Hunter Renfroe led off the 7th with a double, moved to third on a ground out, then scored on a Jack Reinheimer ground out. James Hoyt would pitch a rocky 9th, but still manage to hold on to the save. Stephen Cardullo was 3-3 with a double for the winners, while Reid Brignac (2-4) hit a homer in a losing cause.
PCL leads series 1-0.

LeBlanc (IL) vs Valdez (PCL)
IL 4, PCL 1
The PCL's 1-0 lead quickly evaporated thanks to poor defense and less than stellar pitching. Wade LeBlanc fanned 8 and gave up just 1 in 7 innings and the pen (Scott/Tepera) were perfect over the final 2. Yankee prospect Aaron Judge knocked in 2 with a double before getting ejected in the 6th after arguing a called strike 3 call. An Adam Walker 2 run single in the 8th broke turned a 1 run game into a 3 run game.

Rodgers (PCL) vs Klein (IL)
IL 2, PCL 1
In a superbly pitched game it all came down to poor manager judgement in the 9th when the IL had a runner on 3rd with a 70% chance of scoring and he was held up to play for the big inning. Instead, there was no big inning as Dickson popped up to short and T.J. Rivera hit a bullet to short that turned into a series ending 6-4-3 DP. Phil Klein (IL) threw 7.2 innings & fanned 7 and gave up a solo run in the 6th to notch the victory. The IL All-Stars move on to play the Cleveland Indians in a 3 of 5 set.

IL Adam Walker doubled scoring Solano to take the lead. PCL 1 IL 2.
IL Donovan Solano: 2 for 3, 2 doubles.
IL Yandy Diaz: 3 for 4, 2 doubles.
