Marlins hold off Rox 3-2

Game One: The great Jose Fernandez dominates, striking out eight and only allowing four hits in a 7-1 whitewash. Miami 1, Colorado 0.

Game Two: The most exciting game of the series. Colorado goes up 3-0 in the first on an Arenado homer but can't score in regular frames after that. Miami chips away and ties it in the bottom of the eighth on a Rojas double, but Colorado's Blackmon throws out Yelich at home to keep it tied. Blackmon then hits the winning homer in the top of the 10th. Miami 1, Colorado 1.

Game Three: Colorado's bats explode for 15 runs, as Charlie Blackmon has three more hits, and Miami starter Adam Conley is knocked out in the third after giving up six runs. Colorado 2, Miami 1.

Game Four: Colorado squanders a chance to win the series as Miami pitcher Wei-Yin Chen is magnificent and Miami pounds Colorado in the 8-3 victory. Miami 2, Colorado 2.

Game Five: It's Jose time again, as Fernandez does it a second time by quashing the Rockies' offense. A 2-2 tie is broken in the fourth on RBI singles from Suzuki and Prado, and Miami never looks back. Jose and company completely shut off the Rockies offense in the 5-2 win.

Miami takes the series 3-2 and moves on to face the mighty Cubbies.

Thanks to newcomer Chris Mannen for getting it in late tonight.

"Great write-up for an exciting series!

Having said that, I know my Japanese All-Stars are longshots, but I should point out that those "mighty Cubbies" aren't in the second round yet...

Maybe I should put this one on the lockerroom wall..."
