Scherzer vs Syndergaard

The Nats broke the Mets serve in game 5 as we were served up a repeat performance from game 1 starters Scherzer and Thor. With the Metsies up 4-3 after 5 the Nats got to Thor in a big way and chased him to the showers. With 2 outs Washington got a PH RBI single from Jose Lobaton and a two run knock from Murph, who knocked in half of Washington’s tallies (eight) on the day. Scherzer pitched long enough (5IP/4ER) to get the win. Thor gave up 7 in 5 2/3 to get tagged with the “L”. New York, who lives by the long ball, scored all 5 of their runs on 4 dingers, which indluded one off of Thor’s bat.
